Calling all Biki Women!

09/14/2017

Participate in our Women's Bike Month social media competition!

Women account for only 34% of bikeshare users in the US and biki hopes to change this here in Honolulu. During the planning process, Executive Director Lori McCarney wanted to design a system that would encourage women to use bikeshare. As a result, the biki bike has slightly smaller wheels and is 10 pounds lighter than the standard bikeshare bicycle, making it easier to handle and more comfortable for riders of smaller statue.

Throughout the month of September we're joining bikeshare networks, including NYC's Citi Bike and Portland's Biketown, in celebrating Women's Bike Month! In honor of the celebration, we'd like to thank our Biki Women by offering the chance to score some free rides. To enter, post photos on Instagram, Twitter or Facebook with the tags #WomenWhoBike and #GoBikiHI. Winners will be randomly selected and contacted via social media throughout the remainder of the month.

We're proud to be a women-led organization and thankful for all the Biki Women who ride with us every day!
